Our Application Process
To join our corporation, we prefer that you already possess a valid NYS EMT certification or higher. However, all applications are accepted for evaluation. After an application is submitted it will be reviewed by the Randolph Regional EMS Corporation Board of Membership. Following the review, the application will be placed on “hold” for 30 days while a background check is completed. An evaluation of need based on current membership will also be completed. After 30 days the board will vote on the application based on all information gathered and a decision will be made.
If the application is accepted the new member will be placed on a 6-month probation period. After the 6-months it will be determined if the applicant is given full-membership or removed from the roster.
In order to maintain membership status, members must respond to 12 EMS dispatches per calendar year.
Steps to become an EMT
Junior EMT program
- Must be 15-18 years of age
- Must complete an Advanced First Aid course
- Instructor on site
